I have decided to talk about the environment. Not too many topics offer more cerebral stimulation.
So here we are in Northern Virginia, living in what my daughter calls The Shadow*. The Shadow envelopes our protective wood, masonry, drywall, and glass refuge with its ever present gloom from dawn til dusk. The Shadow demands our waking hours be executed under the focused glow of strategically placed vacuum sealed heated wires. Occasionally these wires explode in a great blue flash. These singular but irregularly timed strobes chase The Shadow at 300,000 kilometers per second for a millisecond before they expire. We shrink back in awe as The Shadow delightfully announces its victorious return by increasing its gloominess in the blink of an eye. We scramble to initialize our backup plan by ionizing neon gasses but the result is pitifully inadequate.
All is not lost however, because we have a plan to escape The Shadow on 31 July 2010. Of course I can't detail that plan here or The Shadow might...oh never mind, this is getting wierd.
*Just to keep any blood sucking lawyers out there from getting any litigious ideas (and you know who you are!), my The Shadow is not to be confused or associated with this Shadow
